Every two years, The Australian Publishers Association, and some amazing sponsors, send an Australian editor to New York for ten weeks, to immerse themselves in the largest book market in the English speaking world, to learn and grow, and to come home and share their knowledge with Australian publishing.

The Fellowship is an amazing opportunity for personal and professional growth, and it fosters the sharing of information and the strengthening of ties within the publishing industry. It is also a recognition of excellence in editing.

The Fellowship honours Beatrice Davis, Australia's most acclaimed editor. Working at Angus and Robertson from 1937 until 1974, Beatrice nurtured a generation of writers, including Thea Astley, Ruth Park, Patricia Wrightson and Miles Franklin, and helped shape Australian literature.
