In Melbourne there are no pumpkin pies, no strange marshmallow confections masquerading as savoury dishes, no decorative gourds or paper turkeys. But even so, there is a lot to be thankful for:
- Nectarines are in season. Thank you, world.
- My coffee this morning was really good. Thank you, St Ali.
- Bit by bit, I'm organising my meetings with lovely and generous New York editors. Thank you, lovely and generous New York editors!
- Also, today is my birthday, and my partner, Tom, gave me a puffy jacket to wear in New York when it is freezing cold. This means I am really going. You can't have a puffy jacket and not go to New York. It's definitely on. Thank you, Tom.
